The Time is Now: Compete for the 2026 Title of 401(k) Champion

— Jack Towarnicky

STAMFORD, CT, UNITED STATES, August 17, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The 401(k) Champion® Competition today announced that Jack Towarnicky has been appointed as an adviser to the national program.

The 401(k) Champion® Competition is a national essay competition designed to recognize and celebrate 401(k) participants who demonstrate an understanding of the benefits of 401(k) plans and a commitment to helping others achieve retirement security. The program's mission is to elevate the voices of 401(k) participants, encourage financial education, and promote greater engagement with workplace retirement plans.

Towarnicky joins Dave Wray as adviser. Both Wray and Towarnicky are former Executive Directors of the Plan Sponsor Council of America. PSCA is a nonprofit trade association supporting employers who provide employment-based retirement plans and those who support those programs.

“Reaching individual participants to hear their stories – the goal of the competition -- puts a human face on retirement readiness, surfaces practical lessons that others can use, and celebrates the colleagues who quietly help their workplaces become more financially secure,” explained Wray.

“Jack’s experience in plan sponsor roles at four different Fortune 500 employers, and as an ERISA attorney, educator, author, and public-policy contributor -- and his unique perspective as 2021 401(k) Champion® -- will strengthen our efforts to help more Americans realize the full value of their workplace retirement plans,” said Julie Jason, longtime proponent of financial literacy education and creator of the 401(k) Champion® Competition. Listen to former 401(k) Champion® Robert Brokamp of Motley Fool interview Julie at 401kchampion.com.

“I am honored to join the 401(k) Champion® Competition as an adviser,” Towarnicky said. “Throughout my career, I have seen how workplace retirement plans and effective financial education can strengthen long-term financial security. This competition recognizes people who not only make thoughtful retirement-saving decisions for themselves, but also inspire their colleagues to do the same. I am pleased to support this important effort.”
